To Managers, Mid-Level Executives, Supervisors and Their Employers…
You’ve been promoted to supervisor, manager or mid-level executive in your organization. You know your job responsibilities, but are seeking to develop your leadership skills because you recognize that the title alone doesn’t bless you with all you need to be the best.
Or maybe you’ve been in a management position for some time, but have your sights set on a continuous ascent up the ladder within your organization.
Better yet, maybe you aren’t in any supervisory or management position, but you aspire to be.
In each of these cases, a leadership coach would be an essential resource to help you create a vision for the development of your career and cultivation of your inherent leadership skills.
Many times when individuals are promoted to management positions, in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations, they are trained in the tasks of their new jobs, but not in honing their skills as leaders. Every human being has the potential for leadership. Leaders are not simply defined by their titles or positions within organizations. They are recognized for their ability to identify their visions, bring them to life and inspire others to do their best in the process.
Dawn E. Shedrick, co-founder of Babylon Counseling & Wellness Services, is an experienced leader and administrator who has provided coaching, supervision and inspiration to dozens of employees and clients who now enjoy rewarding leadership positions in business and the nonprofit sector. She has developed leadership training and mentoring programs for more than 10 years and continues to provide private coaching to supervisors, managers and anyone else who strives to progress within their organization.
Leadership Coaching Services
Our coaching programs are designed for supervisors, managers and senior administrators and aim to help you:
- Establish and refine your vision for your career
- Assess your leadership strengths and identify areas for growth
- Set achievable goals that will challenge and motivate you
Dawn may be retained for a minimum of 6 months by an individual seeking to enhance leadership skills or an employer who recognizes the benefit of the investment in its supervisors, managers and administrators.
The Process
Our services are available to individuals and organizations worldwide. Dawn is available for coaching via telephone and Skype, as well as in-person coaching for clients on Long Island and in the 5 boroughs of New York City. The process is very flexible and sessions are scheduled with your specific needs in mind.
Assessment
After our initial consultation and once retained, your coach will conduct an in-depth assessment to help identify your needs, strengths and communication style. We utilize myriad tools during the assessment process that have been proven to provide significant insight into your style and capabilities.
Customized Action Plan
After completing the assessment phase, this is where we roll up our sleeves and develop a customized roadmap for your growth and achievement during this process. Most of our work together will be spent during the development and implementation of your action plan. Together we will identify your specific goals; tap into and refine your leadership practices and skills; and address and resolve any roadblocks.
Evaluation
Once we both agree that you achieved success in this process, we will evaluate the process in detail. It’s important for us to identify what has worked so we can insure your continued success!

Testimonials:
“I just finished a review of the progress made by The INN social workers receiving your consultation and coaching services. I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the level of professional support and guidance you have provided. The feedback from our social work staff is consistently positive and your knowledge and skill in such a wide range of practice areas has been a true benefit to our organization. We especially appreciate your thorough documentation of services and your availability for phone consultation between sessions. Thank you for going above and beyond the basics and for taking the time to gain an understanding of the unique needs of our staff. We are grateful for all you continue to do to help us meet the challenges of serving hungry and homeless Long Islanders. Liz Frederick, LMSW, Managing Director of The INN
“I thought that I knew what my goals were until I started working with Dawn. She showed me the importance of not only setting goals for myself, but for having a vision for my career. She supported me as I worked through some issues that were preventing me from succeeding in my male-dominated organization. Even though she has a lot of experience and insight, her energy alone indicates that she is a not only a leader, but a force to be reckoned with. After working with her for several months I noticed an improvement in my confidence and I later received a promotion within my company. This was the best investment in my career to date!” Jennifer R., Coaching Client
“When Dawn became my supervisor, I quickly realized that she wasn’t only there to tell me what to do, but she inspired me to be the best professional that I could be. Our supervision sessions were a combination of task supervision and visioning, she coached me on continuing my education, developing a solid work ethic and setting short term and long term goals for my success. I’ve since opened my own consulting business and still refer to many of Dawn’s pearls of wisdom as I build my business.” Chris J. Former Employee
“I was promoted within my organization a few years ago. It was a very significant progression in my career and I was ecstatic! But I soon became very stressed out due to the demands of my new position, and with little guidance from my superiors I felt like I was doomed to fail. I was introduced to Dawn through a mutual colleague and decided to pay for coaching services out of my own pocket. I didn’t want to give up this new position, I worked hard for it and overall liked the organization. I needed support in developing my goals and changing my perspective on things. I am still in awe of the positive changes I made while working with Dawn. I became more reflective, more assertive and realized my leadership potential. I have since received another promotion and have rewarding relationships with my colleagues. I am certain that I couldn’t have reached this point without Dawn’s help. She is so skilled and so knowledgeable, yet so great to be around. She makes you feel good about yourself in a way that most others can’t. I highly recommend her coaching services!” Celine F, Former Coaching Client
